Pantomime returns after 17 years
The Panto returns to Holme Village Hall after 17 years.
It was pure co-incidence that Aladdin returned to the hall after a gap of 17 years. The last performance was by the scouts and guides according to a member of the cast who was present at the North Yorks Theatre group performance of the 26th November. They were polished and faultless and their technical set up that takes just a couple of hours to set up was amazing to see. The previous week Village Hall Chairman Nick Evans was joined by 2 members of the cast in a live Vixen Radio broadcast from Pocklington Arts centre to publicise the event, and draw attention to the 22 date tour the pantomime had in store for the residents of East Yorkshire.
The hall resounded to the usual fun and games at a Pantomime with the many children ( but many more adults) joining in the “it’s behind you” culture that is the backbone of pantomime. Over 160 people attended which tells the committee that it needs to be an annual event, and who knows
Maybe someone will lead the charge, and a Holme grown pantomime can materialise, some time in the future.
